Job Role & Summary
The role of our Mobile Harvest Driver/Harvest Specialist will be to drive our Mobile Harvest Unit to various locations and assist with the harvesting of animals there. The driver is responsible for inspecting the vehicle to ensure mechanical items are complete, safety issues are resolved and the unit meets HACCP protocols.

Responsibilities
• Ensure harvesting equipment is properly used during animal harvest
• Ensure humane animal harvesting protocols are followed
• Ensure carcass halves are appropriately and accurately labeled
• Assist in the harvest process
• Keeps records such as a logbook and conforms to the state and federal regulations.

Skills
• Commercial truck and trailer driving, maneuvering
• Animal harvesting including, skinning, organ removal
• Proficiency with wenches, saws, knives, firearms
• Communication with animal owners, USDA Inspector and fellow team members
• Knowledge of a broad array of basic mechanical and technical products commonly used in vehicles.

Responsibilities
• Understand and follow food safety and sanitation rules, policies, controls product shrinkage and inventory expenses.
• Ensure cutting and grinding instructions are followed and each cut is accurately labeled
• Follow all USDA rules and regulations for meat processing.
• Break down, clean and sanitize meat department production equipment
• Inspect production rooms for cleanliness to meet USDA approval.
• Ensure all areas are maintained and a sanitary condition to eliminate potential food borne diseases per USDA guidelines.
• Help establish and maintain a positive work unit and communication.
• Maintain a positive attitude and practice excellent communication with customers and co-workers at all time
• Recommend modification in procedures, organization and standards to improve operating efficiency and work with support personnel in implementing system processes.

The role of our Production Scheduler will be to communicate with our producers to assist with the scheduling of animal harvesting.  This position will be the front-line person working with each of our producer customers to make sure each experience with LCM is exceptional.

Responsibilities

  • Initiates all paperwork for incoming requests for livestock harvesting.
  • Contacts producers for scheduling drop-off of animals or for mobile harvesting.
  • Responds to all emails concerning harvesting or processing of livestock.
  • Continually monitors producers accounts to verify all information is accurate.
  • Ensures producer paperwork is in order
  • Ensure producer account is current before scheduling additional services
  • Organizes workflow and scheduling by reading and routing correspondence, collecting customer information, and managing assignments.
  • Reviews harvesting and processing schedules to verify the upcoming two-week schedule is complete.
  • Reviews harvesting and processing schedules daily and notifies harvesting and processing staff of special circumstances or requests
  • Provides harvesting and processing staff with daily schedule first thing in the morning.
  • Produces the schedule for the following two-weeks to be provided to USDA every Friday.
  • Contacts producers the day before their scheduled harvest to verify details
  • Manages department schedule by maintaining calendars for the harvesting unit and the processing department.
  • Maintains customer confidence and protects operations by keeping information confidential.
  • Contributes to team effort by accomplishing related results as needed.
